Under the mattress money… For years, I’ve been searching for a hustle just like this. I’m happy to announce, I’ve found a perfect match.

The original thought came from an interview with an entrepreneur that made commercial products out of old glass.

• He was PAID to take the old glass from people looking to dump it

• He was PAID to sell the finished product.

• Two revenue streams for the price of one 🤌

This is business beauty perfection.

So when someone on Reddit mentioned they sold used mattresses for a $250 profit on average. I had to know more.

The Reddit user wanted to remain anonymous but provided some tips on how they got started:

• They checked out this video from Side Hustle Nation

• They use Sharetown to manage mattress pickup/returns from customers

I thought buying used mattresses was taboo (and just nasty). So how do we get into the old mattress game and how much can we make from it?

The MVP (Getting your first customer)

Sleep easy… This almost feels too good to be true. Here’s the step by step breakdown of exactly how this works:

1. Apply to become a Rep with Sharetown

2. Once you get a claim notification, go pick up item

3. Ask customer questions about pet/smoke free, how long they had the mattress, any issues, etc

4. Bring mattress to your home or storage

5. Clean mattress

6. List mattress on offerup, fb marketplace, yadda yadda

7. Once you sell it, Sharetown takes a cut

Folks are claiming they are easily making as little as $2k and as much as $20k doing this essentially risk free.

Getting Your Next 100 Customers

Counting sheep… There isn’t much more to this so I’ll keep this section brief with the tips provided:

• Once you list an item and it doesn’t sell in a week, DELETE then RELIST the item. This is a veteran best practice in selling online

• Sharetown provides pictures but feel free to take your own

• About 6-10 hours of work a week can land you ~$3k/mo

• Don’t set up a business to do this because apparently selling used mattresses as a business is ILLEGAL. This can only be done as a private party

If you really wanted to scale up the business, you could look outside of Sharetown for people selling, returning or giving away mattresses. Just use the same process.

I need more ghosts… This is a 10 ghost viability folks, highest viability yet! The only barrier to entry would be a vehicle large enough to transport the bulky items.

This is so good, I have to hide my keys to prevent myself from doing this sidehustle myself.

(As usual each business will have it’s own setbacks, and it’s all about the execution and consistency rather than just having the idea)
