How To Easily Make $2k/mo With A Free CyberTruck

Welcome to Ghost Business šŸ‘» Your weekly Tuesday email, where we turn $1 into thousands building these weird but simple side hustles

Cyber (Truck) Mondays

Happy New Year Ghosties! šŸŽ‰ One of the reasons I started this newsletter is because I have a million ideas. To keep me from acting on EVERY SINGLE ONE, I had to start writing these ideas out and getting them out of my head.

This is one of the ideas I was inches away from pulling the trigger on. Luckily, I have you beautiful people to start these side hustles for me so I don’t drive myself (and my wife) crazy.

Anyways, let’s get to YOUR new side hustle!

CyberTruck are all the rage. Just one driving on the street drives a crowd. They already have a cult following and I swear there’s only 20 of them on the road.

This is a set up for a beautiful Turo business.

The MVP (Getting your first customer)

Electric Buzz… Let’s first figure out how much one of these bad boys costs. Taking a quick peek at the website, you can acquire an all wheel drive CyberTruck for about $80k which will arrive this year.

These payments can range between $800-$1,200 so we’ll go right down the middle at $1,000/mo. So with charging, cleaning, and maintenance let’s say over all our expenses will be $1,500/mo.

The question of the day is will renting our CyberTruck bring in at least $1,500 to break even?

The numbers might surprise you šŸ˜Ž because as of today, CyberTrucks are renting for $1,000/day 🤯

This number will 100% go down as the market becomes more saturated with CyberTrucks so let’s cut it in half and estimate we can bring in $500/day on Turo renting.

With this rough estimate we would only need to rent our CyberTruck 3 days per month to break even!

What?? Free CyberTruck??

The Electric Slide… This starts to get lucrative REAL FAST āš”ļø. Sure you could buy a fleet of CyberTrucks to increase revenue, but I think there’s more juice we can squeeze out of this one with some creativity.

Let’s offer test drives and photoshoots at a discount. Let’s say you can test drive the truck for $100 for 15 min or you can do a photoshoot for an hour for $200.

This does a few things to the human brain in regards to a ā€œsaleā€. Let’s check out the numbers:

  • 15min = $100

  • 1hr = $200

  • 24hrs = $500

This breakdown will encourage people to either pick the hour slot or the full day because you get the most bang for your buck. Either is a win/win for you.

I estimate you can be fully booked every Friday and Saturday of the month no problem and land one photoshoot a week. Assuming a 4 week month, here’s the juicy electric juice breakdown:

  • 8 weekend 24 days = $2,000/mo

  • 4 photoshoot hours = $800/mo

  • Total $2,800/mo

So for renting out your truck 8.5 days a month, you’ll be earning $1,300/mo (after expenses) and can drive your sweet truck the remaining 21.5 days out the month šŸ”„

Keep on truckin… Are you feeling giddy? Do you see why I got all antsy in my pants about this idea? It’s straight cash!

Some potential hurdles would be any large maintenance issues that would require the truck be in the shop, meaning you’d still be owing payments while not earning any income.

(As usual each business will have it’s own setbacks, and it’s all about the execution and consistency rather than just having the idea)

It’s a great day to be great!

Love, Mike šŸ‘‹

You’re still reading??

People love stories. Well, I don’t necessarily have a story to tell but figured I’d use this space to share about me and what’s going on this week (I won’t be offended if you skip this part)

As you get to know me, we’ll be able to relate more to each other and you’ll learn some weird and fun stuff about me.

I’m writing this from Overgaard, AZ at 6,627ft elevation in a cabin with some amazing people as the sun rises at about 6:31am (my favorite writing time). This time away is a great reset to bring in the new year and purposefully plan for 2024. Planning each year is incredibly important to me, if I don’t plan, then I’m ā€œhopingā€ to get what I want out of the year. Naturally, not everything will go according to plan but that’s part of the human experience.

Quick example: I planned to have 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year and ended up just north of 900. Not bad!!

Anyways, we left our 1yo with my mom in Bisbee, AZ and she just took her first steps this past week so here’s her trying out her moms boots! šŸ˜‚
