Totes my goats

live streaming šŸ¤ lawn care

Welcome to Ghost Business - where business ideas go to launch šŸš€ or die ā˜ ļø

Stream Farms

That was a mistake… Recently, I was browsing Reddit for some sweet ghost biz content when I stumbled upon a post about stream farming in r/sidehustles. Without any context, I immediately thought this was about live streaming farm animals. (Turns out its actually illegally streaming content for money).

Anyways, I had posted I thought this was for animals and it blew up. Everyone thought animal farm streaming was a much better idea. I agreed. Then the wheels started turning. What would live streaming animals look like? What’s the overhead, ongoing costs and potential revenue streams?

Animal streaming is already popular. Anyone can creep on the penguins in the San Diego zoo, head over to Africa to view wildlife at a waterhole at Tau Game Lodge, or grab a snorkel to check out the jellyfish in the Monteray Bay Aquarium.

  • Nature is nurture: It’s proven that being around nature helps our brain development and over-all mood

  • Sweet background: Can’t go wrong with natural background sounds and video when studying or doing some deep work

  • Animals don’t discriminate: Animals are universal, they are appreciated by all ages, races and religions.

Traffic jams on aisle MOO… After quick research, animal streaming business appears incredibly oversaturated. So what if we paired this with another animal business? Killing 2 birds with one stone, or better yet, doubling our income streams.

The End Goal

Totes my goats… The final product will be a goat yard care service that you livestream AND post timelapse’s. But why?

Goat yard care is wonderful. It’s a natural way to ā€œmowā€ your yard in a short amount of time and provides ample entertainment.

Angi.com highlights why goat lawn care is better for you and your yard:

  • Renting goats could save you between $1,600 and $3,000 per acre.

  • Goats are more economical for larger properties of an acre or greater.

  • Consider your lawn’s vegetation before investing in goats.

  • To clear an acre of land in a month, you’ll need to rent four to eight goats.

Pair this with a livestreaming service to add a couple of bucks to your revenue stream. THEN post the timelapse of the goats munching their way through the yard and you can build a serious audience.

You would make money through:

  • Paying customers for your goat lawn care services

  • Advertising and streaming revenue from your livestreams

  • Merch sales from your captured audience

  • A course on how to do this whole goat biz!

The MVP

The GOAT… There’s a few ways to get this insane idea off the ground. First idea is to rent a goat. Farms offer goat rentals.

Or (if you have the space) you can buy a couple of goats! All you need is some fencing, goat feed, and some serious professional help because I have NO idea what I’m doing on this one šŸ˜…

Better yet, hit up someone already doing this and see if you can get permission to film their goats. Try to get a set up to livestream and record. They will be happy to get some free content as well!

Scaling Up

More goats, less probs… Scaling up means more goats you can use to service areas. If you’re really playing the game right, you can always have goats on rotation and never need to bring them home.

My milkshakes brings all the goats to the yard… (couldn’t resist)

You could also expand to:

  • goat petting zoos

  • goats at your wedding

  • goat of goats (some sort of goat competition)

Viability:

1 [building spaceships] šŸš€ to 5 [easy peasy] 😊

Totes my goats... This would be tough There is significant demand for this but managing a herd is not in my specialities and I doubt it’s in yours! But if you love goats and love side hustles then please do this.

Goat Manager does sound like a fun job title though šŸ¤”

As usual each business will have it’s own setbacks, and it’s all about the execution and consistency rather than just having the idea šŸ˜‰

It’s a great day to be great!

Love, Mike
